The schedule for the NCAA Division III baseball regional hosted by the University of Southern Maine has been adjusted again because of heavy rain.

Games scheduled for Friday have been postponed and will be played Saturday at Ed Flaherty Field in Gorham. The first game between No. 1 seed Rowan and No. 4 RIT is at 11 a.m., followed by No. 2 USM and No. 3 Babson at 2:30 p.m.

The tournament will continue Sunday with an elimination game at 11 a.m. A winners bracket game will then be played at 2:30 p.m., with another elimination game to follow at 6 p.m.

The championship portion of the tournament will be played at 11 a.m. Monday in Gorham, with an if necessary game at 3 p.m.

SOFTBALL

COLBY WINS TWICE: Emma Burnham homered twice in Colby’s first game of the day and went 3 for 3 with three RBI in the second game as the Mules (28-12) stayed alive in the NCAA Division III tournament by winning two elimination games in Bangor, 3-2 over Husson and 6-3 over Endicott.

Burnham won the first game with a one-out home run in bottom of the seventh. She also homered in the first inning to give Colby a 1-0 lead, but Husson (36-6) tied it on an RBI single by Tayler Watterson in the second and went ahead Allie Casavant’s RBI single in the fourth.

Juliana Kiley doubled home Julia Berry with the tying run in the fifth.

Sophia Meade got the win in relief of KC DeSarno, allowing one run over the final 5 2/3 innings.

Against Endicott (27-15), the Mules erased a 3-1 deficit by scoring five runs in the sixth. Kelsey Sullivan tied the game with a two-run single, Carissa Cassidy hit a go-ahead RBI single, and Burnham drove in two more with a single.

Burnham also singled home Cassidy in the first inning.

Meade again was the winning pitcher in relief, allowing just one hit over the last four innings.

Colby plays MIT on Saturday in the championship round, needing two more victories to win the regional.

CORTLAND 4, BOWDOIN 2: Olivia DiSalvo allowed just three hits and two unearned runs over the final five innings, and the Red Dragons (26-16) eliminated the Polar Bears (27-11) from the NCAA regional in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Cortland scored once in the third, two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth for a 4-0 lead.

Bowdoin got its runs in the sixth on a fielder’s choice grounder by Margaret Flannery-Goodman and an RBI single by Reilly Parga
