Jillian Linkletter struck out 13 while pitching a three-hitter, and Madison salvaged a doubleheader split by posting a 2-1 softball win Saturday against Old Orchard Beach in Madison.
OOB (6-3) won the opener, 19-2 in four innings.
Mylee Robbins and Kenadi Berry both had two hits and an RBI for Madison (4-5) in the second game.
Emilia Michaud was 2 for 3 with a run scored for the visitors.
In Game 1, Hannah Webber and Sammy Darling both drove in three runs, and Reagan Partridge added two RBI and scored four times. The Seagulls were aided by 16 walks, six hit batters and five errors.
Madison’s Robbins was 2 for 2 with two RBI.
BASEBALL
OOB SWEEPS MADISON: Trot Moody pitched six hitless innings as Old Orchard Beach (8-1) started a doubleheader sweep with a 7-0 win over the Bulldogs (2-7) in Madison.
Moody struck out 11 and walked four.
Kamdyn Norton broke up the no-hit bid with a single off Mathew Charron in the seventh.
Caleb Aube led the offense for OOB, going 3 for 3.
In Game 2, Aiden Hodgkins and Holden Lepauloue both had three hits, two runs scored and an RBI as the Seagulls won in five innings, 16-3.
Moody contributed two doubles, and Charron scored three runs.
Colby Solberg drove in two runs for Madison.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 17, CAMDEN HILLS 9: Cooper Davis had six goals and an assist to lead the Black Bears (9-0) past the Windjammers (4-4) in Readfield.
Mya St. Pierre added five goals, while Stella Stewart had a goal and six assists for Maranacook/Winthrop. Celia Bergdahl and Ingrid Stewart each added a goal and an assist, while Evelyn Mortimer, Chloe Mills and Alice Ferran each added one.
