The home team has won all six games in the series. Game 7 is Monday night in West Virginia.
Wheeling took the lead in Game 6 when former UMaine player Nolan Renwick scored 5:31 into the second period. That margin stood until Maine defenseman Michael Underwood got his first goal of the playoffs at 8:15 of the third period, assisted by Jacob Hudson.
The Mariners had a chance to win early in overtime, but Wheeling goalie Taylor Gauthier stopped Ben Allison on a breakaway.
Gauthier finished with 31 saves. Mariners goalie Luke Cavallin stopped 46 shots.
