Juliette Gilbert
FAIRFIELD – Juliette Gilbert, 92, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. Born on Nov. 1, 1933, she was the eldest daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette Gilbert of Water Street.
A proud lifelong resident of her community, Juliette graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1950. She went on to have a long and dedicated career at Burgess and Lawry Insurance on Main Street, where she was a familiar and friendly face to many for decades.
A woman of deep faith, Juliette was a devout member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Fairfield. An avid traveler, she and her sister Jean explored many corners of the globe, with her journeys to Hawaii and the Holy Lands in Jerusalem holding a particularly special place in her heart.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Pauline Gilbert of Waterville; her nieces, Linda Gilbert of Bangor and Michelle Kessler (and husband Michael) of Palmyra; and her nephew, John Gilbert and his children, Grayson and Finley Gilbert of Exeter, N.H.
Juliette’s family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to her dear neighbors of 40 years, Dana and Lana Deroche, whose years of care, compassion, and friendship were a true blessing.
