Denny Martin and Matthew Reardon each hit a triple, and Messalonskee scored four times in the first inning and four more in the third on its way to an 8-1 win over Skowhegan in a baseball game Monday in Skowhegan.

Martin had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run for Messalonskee (6-3). Ben Bernier scored twice.

Blake Kenyon, Trent Austin and Jack Fitzpatrick each drove in a run for Skowhegan (4-8).

CONY 10, BELFAST 0: Landen Perry threw a two-hit shutout, and the Rams (8-2) tamed the Lions (5-4) in six innings in a Class B North contest in Augusta.

Perry struck out nine and walked five in six innings on the mound.

Cony scored two runs in the first, five in the second, and ended the game with a three-run bottom of the sixth. Wyatt McKenney doubled and drove in two runs, while Parker Morin had two hits, two RBI and scored three runs.

Iven Ingraham doubled for the Lions. Aiden Howard pitched the first five inning and struck out six.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 16, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 1: Jake Harmon went 4 for 5 with a home run and five RBI to lead the Mustangs (9-1) to a six-inning victory over the Falcons (5-3) in Rumford.

Among Harmon’s four hits were a two-run homer and a two-run single. He also scored three runs. Noah Schultz was 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI, while Rory Foyt drove in three runs and Logan LeClair singled twice.

Three Monmouth pitchers combined for a one-hitter. Kyle LePage struck out three in 3 2/3 innings, Jacobi Apodaca fanned three in 1 1/3 innings, and Logan LeClair got the final two outs and struck out one.

Josh Pollis had Mountain Valley’s lone hit.

LEAVITT 3, MT. BLUE 0: Trent Holst hit a home run and struck out 11 to lead Leavitt (10-1) to a victory over the Cougars (6-3) in Farmington.

Each team finished with four hits as Holst won a pitchers’ duel with Mt. Blue starter Karter Meader. Holst walked three and allowed two hits in six innings, while Meader gave up two hits, fanned five and walked three in six innings. Ryder Sawyer-Brown pitched the final inning for Leavitt and earned a save.

Sawyer-Brown drove in the Hornets’ first run with a double that scored Holst in the third inning. Holst made it a 3-0 lead with a two-run homer in the top of the seventh.

LISBON 11, MADISON 7: The Greyhounds (5-3) overtook the Bulldogs (2-8) with a six-run bottom of the sixth inning to earn a Mountain Valley Conference victory in Lisbon.

JT Hoyle went 2 for 2 and drove in three runs for Lisbon. Cyrus Tefft and Spencer Franks both doubled and drove in a pair of runs, and Jeff Tuplin tripled and had an RBI.

Nolan Parker pitched 2 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win. Starter Lincoln Matthews struck out eight in 4 2/3 innings.

Landon Dunham was 2 for 4 with a double, three RBI and two runs for Madison, which led 7-5 heading into the bottom of the sixth. Griffin Dickey and Skyler Aldrich both doubled and drove in a run. Dickey started on the mound for the Bulldogs and fanned eight in five innings.

SOFTBALL

BUCKFIELD 21, CARRABEC 8: Sophia St. Pierre had three hits, including a triple, and drove in run fours as the Bucks (8-2) cruised to a win over the Cobras (5-6) in North Anson. 

Grace Veinott added three hits, including a double, and an RBI for Buckfield. Chloee Bennett also doubled, while Daisy Vining had three hits, two RBI and scored three times. 

Kaitlin Dellarma had a double and a triple for Carrabec. Karen Baker and Jillian Robinson each added two hits. 

SKOWHEGAN 4, MESSALONSKEE 0: Abby Carey pitched a shutout and the River Hawks (9-3) beat the Eagles (0-7) in Skowhegan.

Carey allowed two hits, struck out 15 and walked three for Skowhegan. Maesyn Atherton had a double.

ERSKINE ACADEMY 10, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Lilly Clark smacked a home run and Ryleigh French added two hits to lead Erskine (8-2) to a win over Lincoln (0-8) in South China.

Kelsie Dunn struck out five batters to earn the win.

Claire Ward had a hit for Lincoln.

LISBON 5, MADISON 4: Aubriana Bright scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth to give the Greyhounds (8-1) a victory over the Bulldogs (4-6) in Lisbon.

Bright finished with two hits and scored twice. Brynn Chase also had two hits for Lisbon. Emma Bourgoin earned the win, striking out six in five innings of relief.

Madison pitcher Jillian Linkletter fanned seven in six innings.
