Clem Bechard’s recent letter to the editor, “‘No Kings’ protesters should have more decency,” provides a perfect example of irony in the extreme.
“There are no kings and there never will be.” Really? President Trump has posted memes of himself wearing a golden crown, and let’s not forget the picture of himself as Jesus healing the sick.
As to the alleged shock of an “86-47” T-shirt, anyone looking for “86-46” T-shirts only needs to open Amazon to find dozens of shirts in many different styles and colors, most of them selling for less than $16.99. I haven’t heard cries of anguish from the left.
And as far as decency, who can forget the crowds of Trump supporters chanting, “Let’s go, Brandon!”? A neighbor in town even had the phrase emblazoned on his house in lights.
Oh, I forgot, it’s only bad if “the left” does it.
