Melynda Worster drove in six runs in the first game and Kelsey Rancourt had five RBI in the second game as Forest Hills slugged its way to a pair of softball wins over Temple Academy (5-6), winning 17-7 in four innings and 14-4 in three innings on Thursday in Jackman.

Worster and Shelby Veilleux each had three hits for the Tigers (8-2) in the opener. Claire Sherwood was 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored for The Bereans (5-6).

In Game 2, Rancourt belted two doubles and Moffitt hit a home run. Sherwood again led Temple with two hits and two runs scored.

OXFORD HILLS 11, MESSALONSKEE 1: Peyton Cleveland pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts, and the Vikings (11-1) took down the Eagles (0-11) in six innings in Paris.

Sam McPhail led Oxford Hills’ offense with two hits, three RBI and two runs. Taylor Truman drove in a pair of runs, and Atalie Campbell had a double. Cleveland scored a team-high three runs.

Sierra Kingsbury had two of Messalonskee’s hits. Eagles starting pitcher Lauryn Swails fanned six batters in five innings.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 12, MT. ABRAM 0: Kyanah Wing was 2 for 3 with two doubles, drove in three runs and scored once to lead the Falcons (4-4) past the Roadrunners (1-8) in a five-inning game in Salem.

Madeleine Brown added a double, a single, three RBI and three runs scored. Emma Williams (single, double) and Addison Libby (two singles) also contributed offensively.

Vega Rollins hit a triple for Mt. Abram.

BASEBALL

CONY 20, WINSLOW 0: Ben Allen struck out eight batters and Nolan Noyes drove in three runs on three hits to lead the Rams (10-2) to a five-inning win over the Black Raiders (0-10) in Augusta.

Lance Theriault finished with a team-high four RBI, while Drew Linquist drove in three runs and scored four. Leadoff hitter Anderson Noyes had a double and a triple and Landen Perry singled twice for Cony, which had 11 hits and drew 12 walks.

Allen started on the mound for the Rams, and allowing one hit no walks. Chris Karagiannes pitched the final two innings and gave up one hit while striking out three.

Lucas Fisher and Isaac Bulger had Winslow’s hits.

FOREST HILLS, TEMPLE ACADEMY SPLIT: Maddox Cuddy of Forest Hills (4-7) pitched a two-hitter in a doubleheader opener, and Tyler Barber of Temple (1-7) struck out 12 of the 16 batters he faced in Game 2 while allowing only one hit as the teams split a doubleheader in Jackman.

Forest Hills won the first game, 10-0 in four innings. Temple prevailed in the second game, 3-0 in five innings.

Liam Achey led the Forest Hills offense in Game 1, going 2 for 3 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Barber got one of Temple’s two hits in the opener and had an RBI single in Game 2.

MARANACOOK 22, MADISON 11: Grady Hreben and Caldre Glowa each had two hits during a 12-run fifth inning as the Black Bears (10-1) turned an 11-10 deficit into a mercy-rule win over the Bulldogs (2-9) in Madison.

Maranacook trailed 7-4 after a wild first inning, then fell behind again with Madison scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth, highlighted by Bobby Vigue’s two-run double.

The fifth-inning outburst included seven hits, four walks and two hit batters.

Hreben and Glowa each finished with three hits. Hreben belted two doubles, as did Jack Spellman.

Griffin Dickey had a two-run single for Madison in the first inning.

GIRLS LACROSSE

MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 15, MT. ARARAT 5: Mya St. Pierre and Celia Bergdahl each scored four goals to lead the Black Bears (11-0) past the Eagles (5-5) in Readfield.

Stella Stewart added two goals and four assists, while Alica Ferran had three goals and three assists. Ingrid Stewart and Alex Stewart each had a goal and an assist.

Izzy Murphy, Jaelyn Jensen, Jenna Jensen, Celiah Godo and Avery Creek scored for Mt. Ararat.
