Vice President JD Vance earned his pay, his gold-plated health insurance, security detail and ticket aboard Air Force 2 recently in Bangor. It takes nerves of steel, cold blood and a truckload of chutzpah to stand before hard-working Mainers and accuse them of earning the “bronze medal” in fraud.
To deliver this message with a straight face, as a representative of an administration headed by a convicted felon — who appears in the Epstein files and has single-handedly exploded the national debt, increased inflation and gas prices to their highest level in years, and costs American taxpayers billions a day in a war of choice without congressional approval — is a real feat.
And, for an encore, to promote Florida resident Paul LePage, who moved to Florida to avoid Maine taxes and claim a homestead exemption there? It was a performance worthy of a gold medal in grift.
