Faye Newman
WINDSOR – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Faye Newman on May 16, 2026. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and—yes, despite her remarkably young appearance, a proud great-grandmother.
Born in Skowhegan to Charles Belyea Sr. and Virginia Welch, Faye attended local schools and graduated from Skowhegan Area High School in 1966. During her high school years, she was an active student, playing softball and performing as a member of the Color Guard.
Following graduation, Faye spent many years in Madison, where she raised her four boys, which was not an easy feat. Oh, the babysitters she went through! And when life with squabbling boys got too much you may find a couple Leblanc boys holding hands on the sidewalk until they could get along.
She enjoyed her weekly Woman’s Bowling league where she earned several trophies. Faye was also a ferocious reader and during this time enjoyed her Harlequin Romance Novels, which she devoured.
Faye was an avid NASCAR fan as well as a dedicated Patriots fan. You could often hear her discussing games or races with her sons.
In 1995, Faye married Bob Newman Jr. The couple settled in Windsor, where they shared an active life together for 31 years. Faye and Bob loved to travel, exploring the country in their camper and spending ten wonderful years wintering in Mississippi. When in Maine, they could almost always be found on the sidelines of their grandchildren’s games, cheering them on with immense pride.
Faye was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Charles Jr. and Bruce; and her son, Martin Leblanc Jr.
She leaves behind a large, loving family who will miss her dearly, including her devoted husband, Bob; her sons, Bill, Mark, and Matt; and her stepchildren, Sandi, Nancy, Danny, Kevin, and Brian. She is also survived by her siblings, Leslie, and Sharon; as well as several cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Windsor on June 4, 2026, at 11 a.m. A small gathering to celebrate Faye’s life will take place immediately following the service at the family home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Rd., Windsor, Maine
