HALLOWELL – Joan Gosselin, 91, a long time resident of Augusta, died on Monday, May 18, 2026, at The Woodlands Senior Living in Hallowell following a long illness. She was born in Augusta on Sept. 24, 1934, a daughter of the late Alphee and Alma (Poulin) Quirion.
Mrs. Gosselin was a graduate of Cony High School and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She had been employed by the City of Augusta for 29 years and had worked for the Public Works Department, Health and Welfare and for Dr. A.J. Gingras.
Mrs. Gosselin was a member of the Cushnoc Senior Citizens, Ladies of St. Anne Society and the Maine State Retirees Association.
She was predeceased by her husband, Laurent “Larry” Gosselin; a son, Norman Gosselin; and her four siblings, Roger and Edward Quirion, Theresa Allarie and Rita Allarie.
Mrs. Gosselin is survived by her sons, Raymond Gosselin and his wife Linda of South China and Marc Gosselin and his wife Laura of South China, two daughters, Diane Overlock and her husband Kenneth of Knox and Angela Brooks and her husband Chad of Hampden, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Gosselin of Readfield; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Augusta.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
