Lorraine Mae (Burrill) Quirion
WATERVILLE – Lorraine Mae (Burrill) Quirion, 96, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, in her home with caregivers by her side.
Lorraine was born in Canaan, Maine to Earl and Fay Burrill on June 3, 1929, the youngest of eight children. She graduated in 1947 from Skowhegan High School and her daughter Cynthia Doherty was born later that year. On July 3, 1955, she married Leo J. Quirion and they were married for 68 years before Leo passed away in 2023.
They built their forever home in Waterville in 1962 and resided there for over 60 years. For more than 30 of those years, they spent winters in Bradenton, Fla.
Lorraine was able to retire in her 40s and she spent her time with family and friends. Crafting was her passion; she painted, sewed, did needlework, and shared her creations with her loved ones. She loved to travel, spend time at the beach, and she was the life of the party.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leo; daughter Cindy; parents; and all her siblings, including Christine, Mae Belle, Earlene, Olive, Earl, Jr., Fred and Charles.
Lorraine is survived by her granddaughters, Lesli Ware and Sara Ware-Clark; her great-grandchildren Darien Ware-Appleton, Alivia Gordon, Scott Gordon, and Spencer Gordon; two great-great-grandchildren, Javian and Carter; son-in-law, Daniel Burke; special niece and caretaker, Rhonda Landry; and her ‘other daughter’ Michelle MacKenzie; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the staff at Woodlands Park Residences for their care and compassion, to Naomi for her extraordinary personal care, and to Andwell Health Partners for their support.
Lorraine will be buried with her husband, Leo, at a graveside service on Tuesday, June 16 at 1 p.m. at the Central Maine Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
