I am a first-year student at Bates College, and I am proud to support Democratic candidate Jordan Wood, running for Congress in Maine’s 2nd District. As an 18-year-old woman with fewer rights than my mother had at my age, I’m deeply concerned about reproductive healthcare and justice. As someone who hopes to have children in the future, I am passionate about protecting access to reproductive healthcare of all kinds, from abortion to IVF.
That’s why I am canvassing for Wood. He promises to work to codify Roe v. Wade as law, restore and improve funding for Planned Parenthood and secure access to reproductive care for women in Maine and across the country. Young, driven leaders like Jordan Wood are who we need to represent a new generation of citizens who must fight to restore the freedoms that have been stripped from us.
