I recently watched a lengthy interview with Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Graham Platner by the New York Times’ Lulu Garcia-Navarro. I have been a supporter of Gov. Mills for this seat and reluctant to get on the Platner bandwagon. After the Times interview, I am convinced he is the correct choice for Maine.
Platner answered so many questions in a very detailed manner. He was articulate and historically well-versed. He spoke about his life experiences and his personal conduct issues in a honest, thoughtful manner. He exhibited a deep understanding of how our government operates and was able to articulate how it should work — from economic policies and healthcare initiatives to climate change policies, immigration and social justice.
Platner definitely has what it takes to make a difference. Watch the interview on YouTube or at the New York Times site. I believe he’s our best chance to beat incumbent Sen. Susan Collins.
