Cheverus, Gorham, Medomak Valley and Oxford Hills have been the top four in every Varsity Maine softball poll except the first poll of the spring (when Oxford Hills was fifth and the other three squads were in the top four). So the most interesting action each week is what happens in the six spots behind them.

Lewiston moves up a spot from last week to fifth, after finishing the regular season on a seven-game win streak, the latest a 6-0 nine-inning victory over rival Edward Little on Monday.

Westbrook beat Bonny Eagle 7-4 on Monday, which wasn’t enough for the Blue Blazes to overtake the Scots in the rankings, but it has narrowed the gap between the teams to one point.

Windham returns to the top-10 for the first time since May 12. The defending Class A champion Eagles have won five straight. Hermon, the top team in the Class B North Heal point standings, has been flirting with the top-10 for weeks and has finally earned a spot at No. 10.

The Varsity Maine softball poll is based on games played before June 2, 2026. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.

1. Cheverus (9) 90
2. Gorham 76
3. Oxford Hills 63
4. Medomak Valley 54
5. Lewiston 46
6. Bonny Eagle 39
7. Westbrook 38
8. York 23
9. Windham 20
10. Hermon 18

Also receiving votes: Gardiner 17, Dirigo 6, Lake Region 3, Skowhegan 1, North Yarmouth Academy 1.
