Graham Platner may be right out of central casting (has the deep voice, the quintessential working class beard and rugged good looks), but he is not ready for prime time. We discover things daily about Platner, and he appears to still be discovering himself.

For this election, there is only one choice for Democrats: Janet Mills.

I will vote for Mills on June 9. She always was the best candidate. I suspect she bowed to the pressure from advisors, questionable polls and the unexpected and incredible Platner phenomenon.

If Platner wins the nomination, he will be politically destroyed in the coming months. The Republicans plan to outspend Platner at every turn. If the campaign is about standing up to tyranny, having vast leadership experience, leading by example and not having a sordid personal history that results in almost daily revelations, then Janet Mills is the best candidate.
