Ahbram Liendo doubled, then scored on a single by Franklin Arias in a two-run sixth inning Wednesday, putting the Portland Sea Dogs (28-24) ahead to stay in a 10-7 victory against the Hartford Yard Goats (27-24) at Hadlock Field.
The victory lifted Portland, which has won 11 of its last 14 games, over Hartford in the Eastern League’s Northeast Division and into a virtual tie for first place with New Hampshire.
Liendo also homered in the fifth, one of three solo homers for the Sea Dogs. Johanfran Garcia and Will Turner also connected.
Liendo finished 3 for 4 with three RBI and Garcia was 3 for 5.
Cade Feeney (2-2) was the winner in relief. Reidis Sena pitched two hitless innings for his fourth save.
The teams play again at 11 a.m. Thursday.
