David Neddeau
PALM COAST, Fla. – It is with great sadness that the family of David Neddeau of Winslow, Maine, announces his passing on May 11, 2026, in Palm Coast, Fla. David fought so hard to beat cancer, only to die of untreated pneumonia.
David leaves so many family and friends, especially the Magic Falls rafting crew. David leaves behind his wife of 63 years Donna; his daughters Dawn O’connor and her partner Winfield Newell in Florida, who was also his best friend and bicycle buddy; they rode 30 miles a day even with a feeding tube; his daughter Sue and husband Rich, which he enjoyed doing many projects with; his grandsons Ryan and wife Sara, and River Garling, granddaughter Sadie Garling; his great granddaughters Ryleigh, Emily, Ivy, and Ruby O’Connor, his great grandsons Aries and Lincoln Garling. He loved his family and was so proud of every one of them, They will miss him dearly.
He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, especially Jeff Albert, who was like a son to him and family, Sarah, Joe, Anna, Elizabeth and David, and special niece Karen and her family. He was predeceased by his grandparents John and Ola Doherty; Uncle Bob Doherty and his mother Ruby.
David and Donna started Magic Falls Rafting in 1989. David’s love for his company and his crew was special. He loved every one of them. He would always say “This is my other family”, and all the guests that became special friends, he looked forward to them coming every year.
At his request, David will be laid to rest at Gracelawn next to his in-laws Wilfred and Helen Patnaude. His memorial service will be at Gracelawn in Auburn Maine, June 26 at 1 p.m. with a gathering at their home in Winslow from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. His ashes will be scattered on the mighty Kennebec river at a later date.
