Marie Annette Dostie

AUGUSTA – Marie Annette Dostie, 99, passed away on June 1, 2026, just 27 days shy of her 100th birthday. She was born on June 28, 1926, a daughter of Joseph and Mathilda (Lagace) Levesque.

Annette was born and raised at 56 Franklin St in Augusta which remained the family home for over 86 years. She was employed as a stitcher at R. P. Hazzard Shoe for 30 years before becoming a Dental Assistant. For 36 years, she was employed by Dr. Robert A. Patenaude’s dental practice until she officially retired at the age of 82.

On Sept. 6, 1948, she married Raymond Dostie, the love of her life, and together raised a family rooted on Sand Hill in Augusta. She was a lifetime communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church and for many years assisted the parish as a Eucharistic Minister. In addition, she was a former member of both the Ladies of St. Anne Society and the Cushnoc Senior Citizens.

Annette was known for her competitive spirit and enjoyed playing cards, especially “63”, cribbage, and pass the trash. She spoke French fluently and enjoyed dancing with her husband and teaching her sons when they were young how to dance. But most of all she loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately nicknamed her “Memere Dos”.

Annette was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Dostie; her son, Lawrence Dostie; her siblings, Gerard Levesque, Marie Jean Douin, Leo Levesque, Alfred Levesque, and Rev. Sylvio Levesque; a grandson, Tysun Dostie; and infant great grandsons: Raymond Peter Dostie and J. Watson Dostie.

Annette is survived by her devoted son, Patrick Dostie and his wife Lynda, daughter-in-law, Susan Dostie; grandchildren, Aaron Dostie and his wife Stacy, Trevor Dostie, Amber Davis and her husband Christopher, Tiffany Hopkins and her wife Carla, Berek Dostie and his wife Ashley, Rachelle Dostie and granddaughter-in- law Carrie Dostie; great grandchildren, Alexis and Brielle Dostie, Addison Echols and her husband William, Simon Davis and his wife Devan, Drew Davis, Emerson Davis, Cooper Davis, Eli Hopkins, Lily and Grace Dostie, and Anniston, Kinley, and Everett Dostie; and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the Augusta Rehab facility staff and Andwell Hospice for the supportive care given to Annette.
