Mending Health, formerly known as Taro Health, will no longer offer health insurance as of Jan. 1, 2027.

The Maine Bureau of Insurance said it received notice from the health insurance provider that it would be ending services in a news release on Monday.

According to the bureau, Mending’s roughly 1,100 members will keep their plans through the end of their existing plan year.

Mending Health has offered individual and small-group plans on Maine’s Affordable Care Act marketplace. Individuals and families who obtained Mending Health coverage through the state’s CoverME.gov website, or purchased a plan directly from the provider, can select a new health insurance company during the annual open enrollment period starting Nov. 1, according to the bureau.

Small-employer groups will also remain covered until the end of their plan year, the bureau stated, but “employers are encouraged to work with their insurance broker or agent to explore options with other insurers.”

The bureau said it has received proposed rate changes for 2027 from Anthem Health, Community Health Options, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and UnitedHealthcare. It is reviewing the proposals and expects to finalize them in August, according to the news release.
