Voters in Regional School Unit 18 approved a $47.2 million spending plan in Tuesday’s election.

All five towns approved the budget in a ballot referendum. Districtwide, the budget was approved 4,805-3,375, according to unofficial results.

In Belgrade and Sidney, the referendum passed with almost 70% supporting the vote. In China and Oakland, the budget earned just over 70% approval; and in Rome, it passed with nearly 78% supporting.

The spending plan is 3.5% higher than the 2025-26 budget. RSU 18 serves the towns of Oakland, China, Belgrade, Rome and Sidney.
