We have some questions for Susan Collins. Much has been reported recently about the challenging questions her opponent, Graham Platner, has had to face. We take those challenging questions seriously. We also have many questions we wish we could pose to Sen. Collins directly.
First, how many town hall-style meetings has she hosted during her most recent term? Platner has held scores of meetings in less than a year, including meetings after his problematic history became public. Platner has faced real people asking difficult questions in public. When was the last time Collins did this?
Second, why is Sen. Collins still a Republican? Does she share her party’s views? If Collins could truly “vote her conscience,” where would she stand?
Third, why should Mainers trust Sen. Collins to help build a better future for us, our children and our grandchildren? She has aided and abetted laws, policies, federal court nominations, regulations and behavior that we believe make us poorer, less healthy and less safe.
Why does Susan Collins deserve another term?
