MONMOUTH FAIR

Plan a day for the Monmouth Fair, set for Wednesday through Saturday at the Monmouth Fairgrounds on Academy Road.

The small, family‑oriented agricultural fair is organized with support from the Cochnewagan Agricultural Association. It highlights local farming, 4‑H youth projects, livestock and rural skills through animal exhibits, pulling events, and craft displays.

The fair offers a classic midway with rides and games, live nightly entertainment, and a range of activities for children. With horse or oxen‑pulling events each day, along with 4‑H showcases and community‑driven exhibits, the fair is both a fun outing and an educational celebration of Maine’s agricultural heritage.

THE WOOTEN BROTHERS

Be sure to see the Wooten Brothers concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St., Waterville.

MR. DREW AND HIS ANIMALS TOO

Viles Arboretum is set to host Mr. Drew and His Animals Too at noon Saturday at 153 Hospital St., Augusta.

The one-hour presentation will feature more than a dozen exotic reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates from around the world.

This interactive program brings learning to life with real close-up encounters and hands-on opportunities, making it a perfect event for curious animal lovers of all ages.

PATTON OSWALT-EFFERVESCENT

Experience the comedy of Patton Oswalt-Effervescent at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Hall Opera House, 280 Water St. in Gardiner.

THE MAINE OYSTER FESTIVAL

Freeport is set to host the Maine Oyster Festival Friday and Saturday.

Tens of thousands of fresh Maine oysters will be shucked and slurped in two days. Meet sea farmers, shop with local artisans and food trucks, take part in free kids crafts, learn about sea creatures with Tidepool Tim, learn to shuck, engage with seaworthy nonprofits, and enjoy live music with a maritime twist.
