Jean Cynthia Brooks
SKOWHEGAN – Jean Cynthia Brooks, 86, passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2025, at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Skowhegan. Born on Oct. 21, 1939, in Skowhegan, daughter to Olen Robert Boulette and Mildred Pearl (Greene) Ellis, Jean spent nearly her entire life in the community she loved.
A devoted single mother, Jean worked tirelessly as a line worker in manufacturing and held many jobs throughout her life to provide for her family. She earned her GED through Skowhegan Adult Education and took great pride in her accomplishments. Jean enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking, traveling with her husband “Fonzie” and brother Larry; and most of all, spending time with her family.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband of 27 years, Alphonse J. Brooks, Sr; her parents; three brothers, Lawrence R. Boulette, Sr., David O. Boulette, Sr., and Mitchell A. Boulette; and her grandson, Peter R. Murray.
She leaves behind her daughter, Brenda Murray and her husband Paul of Skowhegan; two granddaughters, Danielle Tibbetts and her husband Jason, and Kaitlin Murray; great-grandson, Chance Tibbetts; her brother, Gerald A. Boulette; and many nieces and nephews.
Jean will be laid to rest at Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11 a.m.
Jean will be remembered for her strength, hard work, and unwavering love for her family.
