Recent arrivals Matt Fraizer and Jack Winnay both reached base four times and combined for five runs and three RBI, and the Portland Sea Dogs rolled to a 10-4 win over the Hartford Yard Goats in an Eastern League game Wednesday night in Hartford, Connecticut.
Fraizer, an outfielder who was promoted last week from Class A Greenville, hit a two-run double during a five-run fourth inning that broke a scoreless tie. He was 3 for 4.
Winnay, in his second game for the Sea Dogs since his promotion from Class A, played third base and was 2 for 4 with two walks and three runs scored.
Franklin Arias, Nate Baez and Marvin Alcantara also collected two hits apiece. Alcantara singled home the game’s first run in the fourth inning and added an RBI single in the sixth.
The Sea Dogs finished with 14 hits and were helped by eight walks, a hit batter and three Hartford errors.
Starting pitcher Hayden Mullins was one out away from qualifying for the win when he was removed in the bottom of the fifth, having allowed two runs on six hits and three walks. He struck out six. Michael Sansone (4-3) gave up two runs over the final 4 1/3 innings.
