Regarding the June 18 op-ed “Graham Platner and the new American pillory,” I am an American Jew and Zionist who was born in the shadow of the Holocaust. Aided by the Biden and Trump administrations, by the American the Israel Public Affairs Committee and Christians United for Israel, I’ve witnessed my people commit genocide with the support of my country. I know who our enemies are.

I am a veteran of #MeToo. Former Graham Platner campaign staffer Genevieve McDonald (who I believe flacked a friend’s intimate confidences to the media) and Platner’s ex-girlfriend Lindsey Fifield (who helped raise Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court before trying to sink Platner’s Senate campaign) do not speak for me.

I am one generation from FDR’s New Deal. I want others to have the educational and economic opportunities my family had. I want the voter protections that prevented bigotry and big money from silencing our voice. I want a new generation to have its turn. This is why I support Graham Platner. I’d be ashamed not to.
