Carol Hope (Jenness) Thornton
MOSCOW – Carol Hope (Jenness) Thornton passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60 after a brief illness.
She was born in Damariscotta to Charles and Barbara (Reay) Jenness and attended Valley High School. Carol treasured the friendships she made throughout her life, including many childhood friends with whom she enjoyed spending time, especially Hood (Jeanie), Jackie, and Denise. In 1983, Carol began building a life with Michael Thornton. Together, they had two children whom they both loved dearly, and they later married. In her later years, Carol enjoyed staying connected with her many friends and family members. She will be remembered for living life on her own terms and exactly the way she wanted.
Carol is survived by her parents, Charles and Barbara Jenness; her son, Spencer Thornton, his wife Nicole, and their children; her daughter, Kaylie Thornton, and “that little puppy dog Macie”; her longtime boyfriend, Mickel Pelletier, and his children; her former husband, Michael Thornton; her sister, Charlene Jenness, and her spouse Glenn; and her sister, Crystal Temple, her spouse Leroy, and their children.
A celebration of life to honor and remember Carol will be announced at a later date.
The family extends very special thanks to the entire medical staff at Redington-Fairview General Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center, especially Dr. Gillis, for their care and support.
Family and friends are invited to visit Carol’s memorial page at http://www.svremembrancecenter.com, where condolences, photos, and special memories may be shared.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite animal shelter in Carol’s memory.
