Waterville Opera House is set to host The High Kings at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at 1 Common St. in Waterville.

The band has consistently brought the timeless tradition of folk music to audiences worldwide, earning it chart-topping success and widespread acclaim. With its signature blend of classic tradition and modern edge, The Rocky Road Tour promises to be a vibrant showcase of Irish culture, energy and musicality.

THE SHIZZLE

Waterville Rocks, a free, family friendly concert series, is back and will feature The Shizzle at 7 p.m. Friday at Head of Falls off Front Street in Waterville.

The beer garden and food truck opens at 6 p.m.; in case of rain, the event will be moved to the Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St.

The Shizzle is a five-piece band based in central Maine, blending popular dance tracks with classic hip hop favorites.

OREN ROBINSON & DUSTY BUCKETS

Don’t miss Johnson Hall’s Homegrown Series featuring Oren Robinson at 9 p.m. Saturday on the Logan Stage at Johnson Hall Opera House, 280 Water St., Gardiner.

The Johnson Hall Homegrown Series features local artists.

Robinson is an eighth-generation Mainer who sings about the forest and fields, woods and water, and the joys of late-stage capitalism. He has been performing since he was 5 years old with his family’s gospel band.

Most notably, he performs in the Early Evening Show with Mike Miclon, where he sometimes is the entire Early Evening Show orchestra. He lives in the woods with a dog named Banjo, a rooster named Dawg, and four leftover sheep.

Dusty Buckets is a three piece string band in Maine that has traveled the country as street musicians learning and writing tunes.

ALISON KRAUSS & UNION STATION

Be sure to see Alison Krauss & Union Station at 6 p.m. Saturday at Bowl in the Pines — Amphitheater, 1 Geranium Lane in Sidney.

For nearly four decades, Krauss and her band have upheld a legacy as one of the most influential and widely celebrated acts in bluegrass and roots music. Known for an endlessly surprising sound that transcends the boundaries of roots, country, rock ‘n’ roll, and pop, the band released its new album, “Arcadia,” in 2025.

The players include Alison Krauss (fiddle, lead vocal), Jerry Douglas (Dobro, lap steel, vocals), Ron Block (banjo, guitar, vocals), Barry Bales (bass, vocals), and Russell Moore (guitar, mandolin, lead vocal).

THE GREAT STATE OF MAINE AIR SHOW

The Brunswick Executive Airport is set to host The Great State of Maine Air Show, with gates opening at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at 15 Terminal Road in Brunswick.

The show will feature U.S. Navy Blue Angels, marking the team’s first appearance in Maine since 2021, U.S. Air Force F-35 Demo Team (first-ever Maine appearance), U.S. Air Force C-17 Demo Team, Mike Goulian, Warbird Thunder and Vacationland Jumpers.

ZIGGY MARLEY

Ziggy Marley plans to bring his Brightside Tour to Sidney at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bowl in the Pines — Amphitheather, 1 Geranium Lane.

Marley is a Jamaican reggae musician, songwriter, producer, author and humanitarian, and the eldest son of Bob and Rita Marley. He first performed with his siblings in Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers.

ASHLEY & THE MANICS

Waterfront Wednesday in Augusta will host Ashley & The Manics at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Waterfront Park, 106 Front St.

The weekly concert series is scheduled through Aug. 5 and features free music, food and family fun returning to the Kennebec River.

Each week, concertgoers can bring a lawn chair or blanket and settle in for live music from local bands and DJs. A food truck will be at every event.
