AUGUSTA – Theresa M. Coughlin, 94, died Sunday, July 6, 2026, at the MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Glenridge following a long illness. She was born in Old Town, Miane, on June 6, 1932, a daughter of the late Guilford P. and Emily M. (Morrow) Maheu.

Mrs. Coughlin was a high school graduate and was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.

She had been employed for many years at General Electric and, later, for the legislature for the State of Maine.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Coughlin was predeceased by her husband, John W. Coughlin and her sister, Beverly Clarke.

She is survived by her brother, Richard E. Matheu and his wife Eileen of Bucksport.

There will be no public visiting hours or funeral service. Burial will be at a later date in the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
