James Nadeau

WINSLOW – James “Jim” Nadeau, 70, of Winslow, passed away at home July 5, 2026. He was born June 18, 1956, in Waterville, Maine, to Leroy Nadeau and Evelyn (Picard) Nadeau. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He graduated from Winslow High in 1974. He joined the Army National Guard and later he enlisted in the United States Army where he met his wife Janet (Dullea) Nadeau. They were stationed together in Germany when they married Oct. 31, 1980. Jim served his country for six years earning the rank of Sergeant E-5.

After his discharge from the Army, he lived in Winslow where he and his wife Janet raised their daughter Shanna and son Joshua.

Jim dedicated his life to Jesus and worshipped Him every Sunday at Getchell Street Baptist Church. He was faithful to his last day and is now in the loving arms of our dear Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Leroy and Evelyn Nadeau; and his brother, John Nadeau.

Jim is survived by his wife, Janet; his daughter, Shanna and her husband Ioannis Ladis and their son Ioannis Ladis of Port Washington, N.Y.; his son, Joshua and his wife Caroline Nadeau and their daughter, Evelyn Nadeau of Pittston; his brother, Peter and his wife Sharon Nadeau of Winslow and their son, Matthew and his wife Paige Nadeau and their daughter, Evelyn Nadeau of Buxton; his sister-in-law, Helen Nadeau of Waterville and her sons Daniel and his wife Kahli Nadeau of Skowhegan, and David Nadeau of Wells; as well as many cousins.

The family extends a sincere thank you to the staff from the Harold Alfond Cancer Center in Augusta and to Northern Light Hospice Services for providing their excellent and compassionate care.

A celebration of life will be held at Getchell Street Baptist Church, 3 Getchell St., Waterville, ME 04901 on Saturday July 18, at 11 a.m. Lunch and memories to be shared following the service led by Pastor Peter Risinger.
