Sen. Susan Collins does bring home earmarked federal appropriations, which is what all senators do for the states they represent. However, that money, counted in the millions, is just crumbs from the table of billionaires she really serves.

In the “big, beautiful” tax bill, Collins and her Republican colleagues gave those billionaires and the companies they own more than $2 trillion in annual tax cuts, which are showing up currently in the largest annual deficits on record, outside of financial emergencies and wars, and will show up soon as cuts to Medicare and Medicaid so large that many Maine hospitals, already financially under water, will sink below the waves.

In addition, Collins and her Republican colleagues have done little to nothing to stop the rampant criminal misappropriations of the Trump administration. This is a major dereliction of duty, for which we as a state and a country are paying, and will pay, a very high price.

Don’t support Collins just because she brings a bit of bacon home to Maine. That is bribery, pure and simple, for which our children and grandchildren will pay a price as American society crumbles and falls apart. Let’s all thank Susan.
