NORTH ANSON — The Northern Star Masonic Lodge 28 of North Anson recently presented 24 bicycles to kindergarten through fifth-grade students at Garret Schenck Elementary School, in Anson, and at Carrabec Community School, in North Anson.

The program encourages students to read as many books as they can for chances to win a new bicycle. A boy and a girl student from each class get chosen and win a bicycle, helmet and a T-shirt.

This program is made possible because of Masonic Northern Star Lodge 28 and local donors that contributed to this program.

The Masons who presented the bicycles were Dan Hill, Reggie Moody, David Adams, Richard Greenstreet and Ron Moody. The donors were: Hannaford, Cousineaus, Corsons P.A., Franklin-Somerset County Credit Union, U.S.W. Local Union 449, Taylor’s Drug Store, New Balance Athletic Shoe, Mattingly Products Co. Inc., Grand Lodge Masons of Maine, Mark Emery Boosters Club, Donald Albertine, Huhtamaki Co. and more.
