AUGUSTA — Kids Day in Capitol Park, scheduled for Saturday, has been called off because the recent rain has made the park too wet.
The decision was announced Friday afternoon on the website of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the event.
The National Weather Service has forecast showers and periodic downpours through Saturday afternoon.
The B98.5 “Bee a Country Star” singing competition has been rescheduled for 12 to 3 p.m. at the Buker Center on Armory Street. All other Kids Day events have been called off and will not be rescheduled, according to the chamber website.
