Every year in Maine, we lose loved ones through the ice on our lakes and rivers. We already have laws about safety vests for boaters, so why don’t we have the same law for snow machines?
Why couldn’t snow machines be equipped with small flotation devices, at least enough to help save the driver?
This could not only save lives, but also would eliminate the cost of recovery of bodies and machines and stop the pollution of our waters by gas and oil leaking from sunken machines.
I know this would add some to the price of the sport, but what is a human life worth?
