Katahdin Valley Boys will return to the Vienna Union Hall at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at 5 Vienna Mountain Road in Vienna.

Their repertoire features tight harmonies and smooth solos. They take pride in presenting audiences with top quality traditional and contemporary Bluegrass and Gospel music including numerous original tunes since 1998. Each member brings many years of experience and professional showmanship with hard driving, traditional Bluegrass sound.

The band is comprised of Ken Brooks, Dan Simons, Jeff Folger and Steve Bixby.

Simons, of Vienna, is a well-seasoned musician who plays Bluegrass Mandolin, sings lead and harmony vocals, and is a guitar player.

Folger is a native of Sidney. A towering lead and tenor harmony singer, he plays the 5-string banjo in a traditional, hard driving style.

Brooks calls Athens home. Performing since 1965, he has played with several popular bluegrass bands. Brooks has an extensive discography having recorded as a solo and ensemble artist.

Bixby plays the Upright Bass, performs much of the MC work, and adds his vocal work to the show.

Tickets cost $12 locally or $13 online.
