In recognition of National Women’s Health Month, Northern Light Inland Hospital and Thomas College will team up to take participants on

The Women’s Wellness Walk from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 18, at Thomas College, 180 West River Road, Waterville, on the new Sukeforth Family Trails, according to a news release from Northern Light Inland Hospital..

The Sukeforth Family Trails at Thomas College opened last fall. The trail system is three miles long, moving through the campus with both an ADA-accessible campus loop and natural surface trails winding through woods with over looks of both the Kennebec River and an old Beaver bog. Some parts of the trail are flat, some are hilly, and other sections may be muddy. The trails have six bridges spanning wet areas including a unique curved bridge. The main access point is from the general parking lot labeled number 8 near the baseball fields.

Northern Light Rehabilitation occupational therapists will be there to help with pre-walk stretches, and trail guides will be available to encourage walkers along the way. The first 100 attendees will receive an Inland water bottle to help stay hydrated this summer.
