PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. — Private James Daniel MacArthur recently graduated from the U.S. Marine Corps camp at Parris Island, S.C.
He reported to Camp Lejeune, N.C., for four weeks of MCT training, then returned home for two weeks before reporting to Naval Justice School in Newport, R.I., for nine weeks of training in marine legal specialist course.
He was also promoted to private first class.
He is a 2011 Skowhegan Area High School graduate.
MacArthur is the son of Julie Santos, stepfather Joseph Santos and James W. MacArthur, all of Canaan.
Grandparents are Nelson and Linda Bowden of Canaan, Deborah Jean of Skowhegan, George W. MacArthur of Grand Lake Stream, Mary MacArthur of Fontana, Calif.
