Those who were offended by the article in the church bulletin about wearing proper dress at church shouldn’t have been, since there was no mention of not being welcomed.
As Frank Rende (letter, July 18) pointed out, if we “ladies” dress properly for “special occasions” why can not we all dress properly for the Mass, which is said in a holy place?
It is an expiatory sacrifice, in which the son of God is actually sacrificed anew on the cross. All the efficacy of the Mass is derived, therefore, from the sacrifice of Calvary.
