* The movie “Miss Representation,” will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Thomas Auditorium, UMF Preble Hall.

SAGE and Women’s and Gender Studies will show this documentary about women in the media that includes interviews with Condoleeza Rice, Lisa Ling, Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow, Nancy Pelosi and others in news, politics, and entertainment. * ECAC Event: The Logic of Yoo will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Emery Community Arts Center.

The event, sponsored by UMF Emery Community Arts Center, is a readers’ theatre production and world premier public performance of Michael Broek’s political poetic drama.

* A talk: “The Gift of Sport: Indigenous Ceremonial Dimensions of the Games We Love,” will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the North Dining Hall A, UMF Olsen Student Center. The public presentation will be by Philip P. Arnold, Professor of Native American Religion at Syracuse University. The talk is sponsored by UMF Religion and Philosophy Club. * A special event: Teaching and Working in a Diverse World: Helping ALL Students Learn. How do educators help ALL students learn? will take place at 11:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in Lincoln Auditorium, UMF Preble Hall and UMF Olsen Student Center.

This half-day conference will begin with a keynote address by Terry Farish, author of “The Good Braider” and will continue with a series of conference sessions about helping students learn. The event is sponsored by Office of the Associate Provost and Dean of Education.
