ALBION — The Albion cemetery committee recently announced the following Albion Cemetery rules and regulations:
* All winter decorations should be removed by May 1 to facilitate spring maintenance and mowing.
* Cement, plastic, wood or rubber edging is not allowed around flower beds.
* Crushed rock will not be allowed on gravesites except for crushed rock that was there prior to these policies taking effect. These areas may be maintained but not expanded.
* Glass containers are not allowed.
* The placing of chairs, benches, fences, shepherd’s hooks and trellises or similar articles will not be permitted, except for those that were present prior to these policies taking effect. If needed, maintenance workers will remove articles to facilitate mowing.
* Permission to plant shrubs must be obtained from the cemetery committee. The committee reserves the right to remove trees or shrubs which have become over grown, unsightly or dangerous.
* All ATVs/snowmobiles are prohibited by state statute from operating in cemeteries. Trash and old decorations shall be carried out. Do not discard trash over fences that border cemeteries.
