Partners in the screening are The United Way Mid-Maine, MaineGeneral Medical Center, Inland Hospital, Healthy Northern Kennebec, Maine Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Community Dental Center, with support from Hannaford and REM.

In addition to the screening, which is conducted by dentists, there will be health educators on-site to give information on health topics such as quitting tobacco and increasing nutrition and physical activity.

Screenings take approximately five minutes and include the dentist examining the mouth, ears and nose and checking for lumps on the neck.

Staff will be available to help refer people to further care if needed. Space is limited; appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.
