Adrian Hoyt of Benton, a student at Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield, has been named one of seven 2021 Students of the Year by the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees.
Hoyt is enrolled in KVCC’s liberal studies program. He was unsure about his ability to succeed in college, but with the support of an advisor he applied to KVCC, where he has thrived, and transformed his educational and career goals, according to a news release.
Hoyt has a strong passion for helping others, social justice, and learning about media and technology. He is the recipient of a Coca‐Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship and plans to continue his education, with a goal of becoming a UX designer.
