WATERVILLE — City police are searching for two suspects reportedly involved in a home invasion in the South End early Wednesday morning.
Police Chief Joe Massey said that the department responded to the report of a home invasion around 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning in the area of 16 Grove St.
The residents in the home told police that two people entered their residence, there was some sort of struggle and then a gun was fired.
“The two people fled the scene and there were no injuries,” Massey said. “Our officers were assisted by Maine State Police with tracking dogs, but the attempt to locate them was unsuccessful.”
Massey was not able to provide any kind of description on the suspects involved, but said that the pair are believed to be a male and female, and likely fled the area.
“There is no danger in that neighborhood; we are continuing to follow up on leads,” Massey said. “We cannot identify anyone (yet).”
The police chief asks anyone with any information on the incident or who has seen anything suspicious to contact the department at 680-4700.
