AUGUSTA — Paul A. Wallace, 56, of Augusta, pleaded no contest and was found guilty of an assault charge Tuesday just before he was scheduled to go on trial for that offense in Kennebec County Superior Court.
Wallace was sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay up to $2,000 restitution for the victim of the assault, which occurred Aug. 26, 2011, in Augusta.
In a separate hearing Monday in the same court, Maurice A. Wilson, 31, of Augusta, pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal trespass that occurred Feb. 24 in Augusta and was sentenced to four months in jail, to run concurrently with another sentence.
Museum adding Sunday hours
AUGUSTA — The Maine State Museum is expanding its availability by adding hours of operation on Sundays, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Now the museum is closed Sundays, Mondays, and all state holidays.
Saturday hours will continue to be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., along with regular weekday hours Tuesday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum will continue to be closed on Monday and state holidays.
The museum’s featured new exhibition, “Malaga Island: Fragmented Lives,” continues to be on display. During July and August, the museum will show a special exhibit marking the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts.
Admission to the museum costs $2 for adults and $1 for adults over age 62 and children 6 to 18 years of age. Children under 6 are admitted free. The maximum charge for families is $6.
