AUGUSTA — Supporters from the Greater Augusta Council of MoveOn plan to bring a “petition for democracy” to U.S. Sen. Susan Collins’ office at the Federal Building at 2 p.m. today, according to a news release from the group.

They will be asking the senator to tell her constituency, on the record, where she stands on the issue of “big money driving politics.” The petition is a document spread via Internet by MoveOn.org, which claims more than 150,000 signers nationwide.

Some in the Augusta group also plan to go to Gov. Paul LePage’s office to ask him to let the public know where he stands on the political money issue.
