RANGELEY — The Church of the Good Shepherd plans to hold a circa 1920s historical service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 2614 Main St., Rangeley.
The event is part of the church’s centennial anniversary celebration: “The Shepherd’s Arms — 100 Years of Reaching Out in Love.”
The service will feature the liturgy that would have been used by the founding generation of the church, as well as hymns from the time.
Following the service, all are invited to the undercroft, where local historian Gary Priest will present a short talk about what life was like in Rangeley in the 1920s.
Special events are planned each month as part of the ongoing centennial celebrations.
The next event is on Sunday, Oct. 3: A 1 p.m. blessing of the animals on the church’s lakeside lawn.
