WINTHROP — The Winthrop Hot Meal Kitchen will resume serving daily meals at St. Francis Xavier Church Hall on Wednesday. The serving of a midday meal has been on hiatus since last spring.
Craig Hickman, secretary of the hot meal kitchen board, said the group has agreed to pay $400 a month rent for the use of the hall, has gotten liability insurance, and has organized as a 501(c)(3) organization.
The rent and insurance are being paid from the $3,200 raised through a special collection at the church, and other donations. The meals are free and offered to all Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m.
