AUGUSTA — Maine’s Gambling Control Board is expected to give its approval to a new course at Eastern Maine Community College for table game dealers ahead of the arrival of black jack and poker games at two casinos.
Hollywood Slots casino in Bangor plans to add 14 table games in the spring, including poker, blackjack, craps and roulette. A casino under construction in Oxford will also offer table games, in addition to slot machines, when it opens this year.
Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor has launched a new program that trains students in all facets of the hospitality industry, including training for jobs such as black jack and poker dealers, security personnel and other table games-related positions.
The Gambling Control Board meets today in Augusta.
