SIDNEY — Joseph Robert and Bernadette Fortin of Sidney celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 25, 2011 with a party given by their son Gerald, their daughter Lisa and their families.

Mr. Fortin and the former Bernadette Gagne were married Nov. 25, 1961, at St. Augustine Church in Augusta by Rev. Dugal.

Mrs. Fortin was employed at Augusta General Hospital and Glenridge Nursing Home.

Mr. Fortin was employed at Edwards/Bates Manufacturing and Daniel’s Motor Parts.

The couple have three children, Gerald Fortin and his wife Lynn of South China, Lisa (Fortin) Smith and her husband Andy of Sidney, and Cindy Fortin of Belgrade; five grandchildren, Jesseca Fortin, Chantal Fortin, Corey Fortin, Alyssa Smith and Emily Smith; and one great-grandchild, Dylan Letteney.

Guests attended from South China, Sidney, Hallowell and Waldoboro.
