Tenley Elizabeth Wurglitz, land and stewardship director with the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust, plans to offer a give a stroll to observe the opening of buds, the unfurling of baby leaves, and the emergence of early spring wildflowers from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 12.

The program will start from the parking lot of the Sewall Woods Preserve in Bath.

If participants are interested, Tenley will explain the basics of plant identification and share some of her favorite resources for exploring the world of plants. Participants can ask questions and get to know one another along the way.

Families with children are welcome, but pets should be kept at home.

Wurglitz manages the trust’s land acquisition program, the stewardship of 4,100-plus acres of land.

Prior to the trust, Wurglitz worked as stewardship director at Island Heritage Trust on Deer Isle, managed a volunteer invasive plant removal program for a county park system in Maryland, researched documentaries at the National Geographic Society, and worked in land acquisition at Sonoma Land Trust in northern California.
