About a year and a half ago, the RSU 4 school board asked their residents to give them directions about privatizing busing. The response was loud and clear.
More than 5,000 people voted at in November 2012, and, by almost 2-1, the citizens said no to privatization. All three towns supported keeping things as they were.
Now the RSU 4 school board, however, is looking at this option again, with a possible vote to be held at Wednesday’s school board meeting.
Why is this school board unable to accept the voters’ wishes? Did they not hear the message?
The school bus drivers in RSU 4 have a total of 300 years of driving experience, and we would like to continue to take care of residents’ children.
